In acquisitions and first-time consolidations, there is often a focus on identifying and assessing hidden reserves and encumbrances, which are regularly found in assets and liabilities already recognized in the financial reporting, as well as in intangible assets and liabilities that have not been recognized. We apply our various valuation models depending on the nature of the asset or liability, showing the implications for goodwill as well as future results.
