Sustainability at nbs partners

As a firm based in the heart of Hamburg, we are aware of the responsibility we bear towards the people and environment in our surroundings. That is why we have committed ourselves to a clear sustainability vision and are striving to improve our sustainability performance step by step. Our firm recognises the values behind the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and would like to contribute to our clients’ ability to act in the interests of sustainable development with our services. In addition to our growing sustainability offerings for our clients, we have already taken the following measures internally.

Our achievements in the areas of environment, social and governance (ESG)

Environmental protection

Climate management: We received the “Climate Neutral Company” certificate in 2024. To this end, we had Climate Extender calculate our greenhouse gas emissions and offset them in accordance with the WWF Gold Standard. Mobility management: To reduce travel-related emissions, we cover the cost of the Germany ticket for our team. We also avoid domestic flights within Germany unless they are absolutely necessary. We use digital meetings wherever possible. Digital office: We avoid unnecessary printouts and paper waste with our paperless office, which works entirely with digital systems and documents. We are shifting our client communication to digital spaces.

Social aspects

Corporate culture: We promote a healthy work culture that emphasises equal opportunities, cohesion, professional development, work-life balance and flat hierarchies. Work-life balance: We offer our team flexible and hybrid working arrangements that promote the compatibility of work, family and private life. For this, we have already been recognised several times as a “family-friendly company” by the “Hamburg Alliance for Families”. Employee development: We support our team in the areas of health, professional training, pension schemes and mobility. In addition to paying for the Germany ticket, we also subsidise gym membership, company pension schemes and mandatory and voluntary training courses.

Governance

Ethical culture: The management team is continuously stresses the importance of ethically and professionally appropriate behaviour as part of our corporate culture. A cultural mission statement for the firm is currently being developed. Whistleblowing system: Employees can report ethical misconduct to persons of trust outside the management. Gender-specific complaints can be handled accordingly by male and female confidential counsellors. Confidentiality towards the management is always maintained without the permission of the person concerned. Supplier relationships: We strive for long-term, respectful partnerships with our suppliers and service providers, including fair remuneration. We do not engage in price dumping.
